Welcome to Panda Performance Lab – Home of Surrey CrossFit – where you will find everything you need in a multi-faceted gym. Formerly known as Surrey CrossFit, New Owner Adam Tulk promises to revitalise the experience you get when you visit with his genuine passion and energy for fitness and well-being.
Currently offering CrossFit sessions multiple times of day, you can join in Panda Performance Lab no matter what level of experience you have, and we welcome dedicated, experienced clients as well as new people who want to take advantage of our extensive range of equipment, and the experience and knowledge of our personal trainers.
You are free to choose your own coach, who will work with you to develop a fitness programme that suits your requirements. We provide a mixture of CrossFit workouts, strength and conditioning training, and help with weights and lifting, so it’s your choice which area you want to focus on.
Tom began his fitness journey in 2011 when he was introduced to CrossFit while working for Reebok. Never having been a fan of traditional gym environments, Tom quickly fell in love with the group dynamic and community of CrossFit and has never looked back.
Tom officially joined a CrossFit gym in 2012 with his wife, Karla and at the age of 33, Tom was in the best shape of his life. In 2014, Tom completed his CrossFit Level 1 Trainer certificate and began taking steps towards becoming a CrossFit coach. He officially began coaching CrossFit in 2015 at Surrey CrossFit under the guidance and mentorship of Head Coach, Adam Tulk. Since then, Tom has continued his fitness education, completing his CrossFit Level 2 Trainer certificate, as well as the completing the CrossFit Gymnastics and CrossFit Weightlifting certifications.
Tom has also been very involved in the CrossFit Community, specifically in competitions, volunteering countless hours as a Judge. After judging numerous local events, Tom was invited to Judge at multiple CrossFit Regional Events and in 2015 and 2016, was invited to Carson, California to Judge at the Main Event, The CrossFit Games! Tom has also worked closely with the organizers of the Throwdown Series (Okanagan Valley Throwdown, Fraser Valley Throwdown), acting as a Head Judge on the floor and in 2019 will be working with the organizers of the CanWest Games as their Director of Judging.
Grace began her CrossFit journey in August 2012 with no prior experience in the fitness industry. After obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature at UBC, she began a career in law enforcement that involved long shifts and an unstable work/life balance. Based on a coworker’s recommendation, Grace found a local CrossFit affiliate close to where she lived and decided to give it a try. Little did she know, it would transpire into a journey that positively changed her life physically & mentally.

In 2016, Grace successfully completed the CrossFit Level 1 Certification and has been coaching group classes at Panda Performance Lab. Through the years of training as a local competitive CrossFit athlete, Grace has also found a passion in helping people discover their own physical and mental transformation journey. She firmly believes that personal growth is not bound within the walls of the gym; rather, it is a unique and individual transformation that permeates into all aspects of life.
Grace plans on working towards obtaining a Pregnancy & Postpartum Athleticism certification as well as the CrossFit Level 2 certification in the near future.
Jen has been active in CrossFit for 2 1/2 years, and has been a CrossFit Level 1 certified coach for 9 months.
She recently became certified as a Precision Nutrition Level 1 nutrition coach, and, with her drive to constantly seek new knowledge in these areas, is actively involved in many of the courses that CrossFit has to offer.
Jen’s passion for helping others become better versions of themselves makes her a valuable part of our Panda Performance Lab coaching staff!
